I am looking forward to the filming days as it will be a good opportunity for me to try out the new skills I have learnt during the process of making this Film Noir and also put into practice the aims I set myself to achieve during the preliminary task as certain aspects of that task I believe I could of made better.

Main Task - Production
In todays lesson we learnt and discussed the Three Point Lighting. This ligting set up contains three style of lights. These are known as;
The Fill lgiht is the second light used, after the key light and is slightly softer lighting. To achieve softer lighting we can use either gels or the scrim.
The back light is the third, and final light that can be used in this setup. This involves having the key and fill light being set up, and when in place the back lgiht will create a near triangle shape with the other lights.
By using this effect we can produce many differnet atmospheres and can lgiht are actors in a variety of different ways depending on how we wish to portray them in the shot.
During the lesson we showed these different lighting effects and took pictures which I shall upload to the blog as soon as possible to show you.

Above are three posters from FIlm Noir movies. These three posters are very helpful in determining what a film noir is going to be like as they show a lot about the characters naqd the atmosphere in the films they are representing. These posters are all in colours which shows a contrast against the blacvk and white film that they are produced for. They are also all cartoon images not computer generated or photographs showing the time period in which they came from and there connection to the film.
